From your first meeting, to the special day you get to call each other your spouse, the journey of your love and proposal story is unique. For many there is that moment when you just know…this is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. For Dawn McCoy and Nick Yedinak, it was a chance encounter at an event in Los Angeles and the subsequent date just a few months later.

Her Story:
After just declaring to a friend that Dawn McCoy had given up on dating, the very next day at a Casamigos and Surgarfina event in Los Angeles, she spotted a handsome guy across the rooftop and thought, “now that guy could be my type.” However the timing wasn’t right. He was with someone and she wasn’t going to make a concerted effort to date. “I already had a career I loved, I didn’t want dating to be my side career!”
However, as they were leaving Nick introduced himself. He pointed out that they had actually already become friends on social media about 2 years prior because they both worked on a television show at different times. “It was such an odd and beautiful coincidence – but I always find that those are the magical moments in life.”
Knowing he was in a relationship, she didn’t give it another thought.
His Story:
Yes, he was in a relationship, but it was strange how sometimes people can feel like they know someone through their social media personality; and from being connected by mutual friends and co-workers. Nick’s relationship ended shortly after that chance encounter at Casamigos and Surgarfina. “I spent a few months focusing on my work and getting my heart back in place to date again.”
About 4 months later he decided to reach out and ask her out on a date. Then another. “After the second date and our first kiss, I knew this was the woman I wanted in my life.”

The Proposal Story:
Nick had been collaborating with Robbins Brothers and Tacori for the “Dogs & Diamonds” event to promote pet adoptions and the big ask! As Nick said, “If you know Dawn, she is in so much love with her 15-year-old Maltese, Miss Ellie.” It was important to Nick to include Miss Ellie on this special day.
The day of the event Nick asked Dawn if she’d agree to introduce the adoption agencies at the event. As soon as she agreed, his heart started to go 1000 miles a minute, as he knew what question was coming. As Dawn started to talk about pet adoptions, while holding Miss Ellie, Nick interrupted her. “I mentioned the importance of family and introduced my mom, catching Dawn off guard and surprising her. I told her that I had asked for her mom’s permission to propose, and I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.”

Of course she said yes! The three of them becoming a family. The entire team at Robbins Brothers was so happy to be part of their special story. We wish them much happiness on their happily ever after.
